Baseball Recap: Discovery Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Discovery won the last time they faced Lake Placid and things went their way on Monday too. The Discovery Spartans were the clear victor by a 12-6 margin over the Lake Placid Dragons.

The team relied heavily on Evan Devore, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4. Discovery is 3-1 when Devore posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-6 otherwise. Aaron Chevere also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Discovery kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Discovery's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7. As for Lake Placid, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-7.

Discovery has already played their next contest, a 17-1 defeat against Lakeland Christian on the 11th. As for Lake Placid, they will square off against Clewiston at 7:00 p.m. on March 17th. Clewiston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
