Basketball Recap: Viroqua Takes a Loss

Viroqua lost against Sparta back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Viroqua Blackhawks had to suffer through a 83-43 loss at the hands of the Sparta Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Blackhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 354th, while the Spartans are ranked 102nd).

Viroqua has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Sparta, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Viroqua will welcome Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sparta, they will take on Richland Center at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
