Preview: Union Christian Day Eagles vs. Lighthouse Christian Academy
Union Christian Day has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on Lighthouse Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Union Christian Day was able to grind out a solid win over Carolina Christian Academy, taking the game 61-54.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Union Christian Day to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eli Gage, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaeden Brown, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Lighthouse Christian Academy came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-40 win over Union Christian Day.
Union Christian Day's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Lighthouse Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Union Christian Day couldn't quite finish off Lighthouse Christian Academy in their previous matchup on Thursday and fell 43-40. Can Union Christian Day avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
