Basketball Recap: Nazareth Prep's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Nazareth Prep won the last time they faced Summit Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Nazareth Prep Saints took down the Summit Academy Knights 53-36. Given the Saints' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Knights are ranked 586th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nazareth Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Evans Jr, who dropped a triple-double on 13 points, ten boards, and ten blocks. Evans Jr has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last 13 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Leon Harrison Jr., who posted 18 points and four steals.

The victory (which was Nazareth Prep's fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Summit Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Nazareth Prep has already played their next matchup, a 26-25 win against Sewickley Academy on the 1st. As for Summit Academy, they will be playing at home against Cornell at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
