Baseball Recap: Monte Vista Mustangs vs. San Ramon Valley Wolves
Monte Vista extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 5-19 in the process. They came up short against the San Ramon Valley Wolves, falling 8-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, with their most recent loss being a 9-1 defeat on Wednesday.
Monte Vista saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Torin Dunphy, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
As for San Ramon Valley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.
On San Ramon Valley's side, Lucas Glazier was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Glazier has posted since back in February. Colton Fitzgibbon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Monte Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for San Ramon Valley, they are taking a road trip to square off against Acalanes at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
