Basketball Game Preview: Kennett Indians vs. Twin Rivers Royals

The Kennett Indians will challenge the Twin Rivers Royals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kennett comes in on five and Twin Rivers on three.

Last Tuesday, Kennett sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-50 win over Holcomb. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Hornets are ranked 374th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kennett found their leader in sophomore Alyce Edwards, who went 13 for 29 on her way to 32 points. The matchup was Edwards' 38th in a row with at least ten points. Brooklynn Edwards was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Twin Rivers was able to grind out a solid victory over Malden on Tuesday, taking the game 40-30.

Kennett's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Twin Rivers, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
