Basketball Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Monticello faced off against Warwick on Tuesday. The match between the Monticello Panthers and the Warwick Wildcats didn't end well, with the Monticello Panthers falling 62-44. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 152nd).

Monticello's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Warwick, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

When Monticello and Warwick next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Monticello will try to stop Washingtonville's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Warwick will square off against Valley Central and their six-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
