Basketball Recap: Real Life Christian Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against First Academy

Real Life Christian Academy kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a blow against the First Academy Eagles, falling 55-5. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Leading First Academy to victory were Ashlyn Neiford and Slowane Delisnor. Neiford shot 62% from the field en route to 22 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks, while Delisnor dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten steals. Neiford is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. Emma Brashear was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

First Academy pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, First Academy will challenge Liberty Christian Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Real Life Christian Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' contest: after the Eagles face off against Hernando Christian Academy, they'll take on Real Life Christian Academy again at 6:00 p.m. on the 12th.
