Basketball Recap: McLaughlin Takes a Loss

McLaughlin made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lower Brule, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mustangs fell just short of the Sioux by a score of 51-49 on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Sioux: they've now lost four in a row.

McLaughlin now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Lower Brule, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

McLaughlin will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dupree at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2026. Lower Brule and Mt. Vernon/Plankinton will round out the year against one another at 10:00 a.m. on the 29th.
