Football Recap: St. David's Falls Short Against Ranked Faith Christian

St. David faced Faith Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Warriors took a 48-30 bruising from the Patriots. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

St. David's loss came despite strong showings from Spence Saik and Mccauley Steele. Saik threw for 285 yards and three TDs while completing 90.9% of his passes, while Steele picked up 147 receiving yards and a pair of scores. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 75 yards.

This is the second loss in a row for St. David's and nudges their season record down to 2-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-0 John Paul II Catholic (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 91.7% over those games). As for Faith Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, after each having a week off, St. David's and GRACE Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Faith Christian, they will square off against John Paul II Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots' defense better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 43.8 points per game this season.
