Volleyball Game Preview: Elk Grove Thundering Herd vs. Franklin Wildcats + How To Watch

Elk Grove is 2-8 against Franklin since September of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Thundering Herd will head out to square off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

On Thursday, Elk Grove didn't have quite enough to beat Monterey Trail and fell 3-2.

Elk Grove came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-23, 26-24, 17-25, 24-26, 16-14.

Meanwhile, Franklin came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Cardinals as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Franklin never let Laguna Creek on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-18, 25-19.

Franklin's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Elk Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Elk Grove suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Franklin in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Thundering Herd avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
