University has gone 7-1 against The Bay School recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Breakers at 3:30 p.m. University will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
University's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Urban. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Marco Parcella made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other pitching news, Rohan Hartigan looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Mattie Grisso, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Quincy Nash, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
University was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in 14 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, The Bay School has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.81 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They came up short against Branson, falling 10-0. The Breakers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
University's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for The Bay School, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.
The Bay School's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: University hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .434. It's a different story for The Bay School, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain University's hitters?
Everything went University's way against The Bay School in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as University made off with a 15-8 win. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Breakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
