Volleyball Recap: Pierre T.F. Riggs Comes Up Short

Pierre T.F. Riggs lost against Washington back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Governors lost 3-0 to the Warriors. The Governors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-10, 25-9.

Washington can attribute much of their success to Emily Akkerman, who had 12 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Akkerman has posted since back in November of 2024.

Pierre T.F. Riggs' loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Washington, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Pierre T.F. Riggs will take on rival Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Washington is set to square off against their familiar foe Aberdeen Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
