Preview: Hurricane Tigers vs. Canyon View Falcons
The Hurricane Tigers will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Canyon View Falcons at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hurricane is hoping to put an end to a 12-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Hurricane pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cedar. Hurricane has not had much luck with Cedar recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Cayleb Jackman put forth a good effort for the losing side as he almost dropped a triple-double on 24 points, ten rebounds, and nine blocks. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rj Hurst, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Canyon View didn't have too much trouble with North Sanpete at home on Wednesday as they won 56-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Canyon View.
Hurricane now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Canyon View, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Hurricane couldn't quite finish off Canyon View in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 and fell 55-52. Can Hurricane avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
