Basketball Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short

Northwest suffered their closest defeat since November 26, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Kingsville Tigers by a score of 47-44. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 525th, while the Tigers are ranked 127th).

Northwest has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Kingsville, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.

Northwest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 40-29 victory against Green Ridge on the 1st. As for Kingsville, they will square off against Hermitage at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
