Football Recap: North Sanpete Extends Winning Streak to Three

North Sanpete strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Delta Rabbits by a score of 23-12. That's more bragging rights for the Hawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ayden Akee was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 119 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Sanpete was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 216 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 211 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

North Sanpete's defense stepped up as well, laying out Bodey Shurtz. three times. Jesse Nuttall refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

Despite the loss, Delta still got an impressive performance from Jett Rawlinson, who rushed for 140 yards and one TD.

North Sanpete's record now sits at 3-0. As for Delta, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, North Sanpete will be playing at home against Richfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Hawks their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Delta, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Summit Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
