Basketball Recap: Academe of the Oaks Falls to Cross Keys in First Game of Season

Academe of the Oaks had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took an 18-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cross Keys Phoenix on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Academe of the Oaks still got an impressive performance from Maya Sklare, who posted five points and 20 rebounds.

Kayleen Reyes was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had six points and four steals.

The victory got Cross Keys back to even at 1-1.

Coincidentally, Academe of the Oaks and Cross Keys will both be playing Atlanta Jewish Academy the next time they take the court. The Phoenix will head out to face the Jaguar at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Firebirds will host them at 6:00 p.m. on December 2.
