The Lincoln Park Lions will take on the Amundsen Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Park is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.8 goals per game this season.

On Monday, Lincoln Park made easy work of Maine East and carried off an 8-1 victory. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Lincoln Park's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Maine East are ranked 383rd).

Lincoln Park's offense was hitting Maine East from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Elita Huzinec led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Amundsen, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They came out on top against Taft by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Amundsen pushed their record up to 5-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four contests. As for Lincoln Park, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-6.

Lincoln Park might still be hurting after the 6-2 defeat they got from Amundsen when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
