Softball Recap: Ider Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Ider won the last time they faced Collinsville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hornets came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 7-3. The win was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won four games in a row.

Miklyn Troxtel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last five matches.

In other batting news, Brynley Traylor was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Makinley Traylor was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

Ider's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Collinsville, they moved to 10-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Ider will venture away from home to challenge Valley Head at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Collinsville, they will welcome Sylvania at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
