 The Garden Spot Spartans will head out on the road to  square off against  the Exeter Township Eagles at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication,  the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
 Last Friday,  everything went Garden Spot's way against Pequea Valley as Garden Spot made off with  a  10-2 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Garden Spot.
  Madix Bracken was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Bracken was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Caleb Zimmerman, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.  Zander Clymer was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Exeter Township  took care of business in their home opener  on Friday (and then some). They blew past Pottsgrove 12-4.
  Mason Goodhart looked comfortable as he  struck out seven batters over  three innings while giving up just two earned runs off   one  hit.
 At the plate,  Luke Giering and  Chase Youse did most of the damage at the plate:  Giering  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while  Youse  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Joel Ummarino, who  scored a  run while going 4-for-5.
 Garden Spot suffered a grim  14-1 defeat to Exeter Township  when the teams last played  back in March of 2023. Can Garden Spot avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
