Basketball Recap: KIPP Denver Collegiate Wins Going Away Against Cripple Creek-Victor

On Saturday, the KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers didn't have too much trouble with the Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers as they won 46-31. The White Tigers pushed the score to 38-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pioneers cut but never quite recovered from.

Despite the loss, Cripple Creek-Victor still got an impressive performance from Trevor Mirande, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Mirande has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Chase Lohmeier was another key player, putting up five points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

The win got KIPP Denver Collegiate back to even at 2-2. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, KIPP Denver Collegiate and DSST: Cedar will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. DSST: Cedar is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.4 points per game this season. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on South Park at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
