It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Gordo had no problem doing just that on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wellborn Panthers a 49-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for the Green Wave, who have now won three games in a row.

Gordo's record now sits at 9-1. As for Wellborn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Gordo will square off against Colbert County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Green Wave will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups. Wellborn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
