Softball Recap: Enfield Finds Home Field Redemption Against Tolland

There's no place like home for Enfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Tolland by a score of 4-1 on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-3 back in April.

Payten Stebbins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Paige Valintakonis, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Enfield has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Tolland, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Enfield is set to take on their familiar foe Windsor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Tolland will face off against rival Manchester at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
