Football Game Preview: Carolina Forest Panthers vs. Summerville Green Wave

Carolina Forest is 0-5 against Summerville since November of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Green Wave at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Carolina Forest is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Fort Dorchester to the tune of 49-7. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Meanwhile, Summerville made easy work of Ashley Ridge on Friday and carried off a 48-27 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Green Wave have posted against the Swamp Foxes since September 28, 2018.

Carolina Forest better keep an eye on Jayven Williams. He was instrumental in Summerville's win, rushing for 273 yards and three scores while picking up 12.4 yards per carry. Williams' longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Stafford, who threw for 239 yards and a pair of TDs on only 19 passes.

Summerville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 333 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Summerville's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Carolina Forest, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Carolina Forest was taken down by Summerville 63-35 in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
