            Baseball Preview: St. Paul Swordsmen vs. Bishop Amat Lancers        
        
		
        
        
            St. Paul is 1-9 against Bishop Amat since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Tuesday. The St. Paul Swordsmen will head out to  take on the Bishop Amat Lancers  at 3:15  p.m. St. Paul's pitching crew has only allowed 1.7  runs per game  this season, so Bishop Amat's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Saturday, St. Paul beat Norwalk 6-2. The Swordsmen haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive  win against them.
 Troy Perez looked comfortable as he  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. That's the fewest  hits  he has allowed since back in April of 2024.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Fernie Soto, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.  Richie Avina also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
Meanwhile, Bishop Amat was able to grind out a solid  victory over Damien on Saturday, taking the game  6-3. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Lancers.
  Omar Arretche was  excellent,  going a perfect 1-for-1 with one  triple and one  run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Adan Garcia, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.
 St. Paul's record is now 5-1. As for Bishop Amat, their record is now 4-1.
 St. Paul came up short against Bishop Amat when the teams last played  back in March of 2023, falling  6-2. Can St. Paul avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
