Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Whitehall

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Melrose-Mindoro, Whitehall was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Osseo-Fairchild Thunder by a score of 53-44. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Norse's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Thunder are ranked 59th).

Whitehall's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points over those games. As for Osseo-Fairchild, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Looking ahead, Whitehall and Regis will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Osseo-Fairchild, they will welcome Pepin/Alma on Tuesday.
