Volleyball Recap: Gulliver Prep Takes Down Killian in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Gulliver Prep had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Killian Cougars on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Raiders have beaten the Cougars the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cougars has come to flipping the script.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Gulliver Prep was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-14, 25-7.

Gulliver Prep was led to victory by Maria Jose Hernandez and Josefina Sanchez Lago. Hernandez had 11 aces and four digs, while Sanchez Lago had four digs and two aces. Those 11 aces gave Hernandez a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Gulliver Prep was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 30 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Gulliver Prep's record now sits at 17-7. As for Killian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Gulliver Prep has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart on the 15th. Killian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
