Recap: West Jordan Jaguars vs. Taylorsville Warriors

The West Jordan Jaguars waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They managed a 55-50 win over Taylorsville. That's another feather in the cap for West Jordan, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Colton Blackham continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with eight assists and two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Szymanski, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and two blocks.

Taylorsville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kobe Allen, who scored 14 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Healy, who scored 14 points.

Taylorsville struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as West Jordan pulled down nine offensive rebounds.

West Jordan's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Taylorsville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

West Jordan will head out on the road to face off against Cyprus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Taylorsville, they will be playing at home against Juan Diego Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Juan Diego Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Taylorsville likes a good challenge.
