Football Recap: Paso Robles Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Marcus Garcia and Blayne Lowry + How To Watch

Paso Robles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 29-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Garces Memorial Rams. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Paso Robles' loss came despite strong showings from Blayne Lowry and Marcus Garcia. Lowry rushed for 34 yards and a pair of scores, while Garcia picked up 87 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Paso Robles didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Matthew Ammann, Jonathan Baxstresser, and Levi Bassetti picked up one apiece.

Garces Memorial got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braxton Sherley out in front who picked up 106 receiving yards and one TD. Mark Gomez was another key player, having thrown for 262 yards and onetouchdown.

Paso Robles' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Garces Memorial, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Paso Robles will challenge Madera at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Garces Memorial, they will face off against Bishop Union at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
