Baseball Game Preview: Ridgecroft Rams vs. Pungo Christian Academy Raiders

Ridgecroft is 2-8 against Pungo Christian Academy since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Ridgecroft Rams will look to defend their home field against the Pungo Christian Academy Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Ridgecroft is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Pungo Christian Academy will be up against a hot Ridgecroft squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Ridgecroft put the hurt on Albemarle School with a sharp 14-6 win on Thursday. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Rams this season.

Noah Williams made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs.

In other batting news, Ridgecroft got a massive performance out of Ben Francis, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Francis continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Lucas Cutchins was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Pungo Christian Academy came up short against Lawrence Academy on Thursday and fell 5-1. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pungo Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Byrd, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Ridgecroft now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
