Basketball Recap: Mancelona Comes Up Short

Mancelona lost against East Jordan back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The game between the Mancelona Ironmen and the East Jordan Red Devils didn't end well, with the Mancelona Ironmen falling 44-26. While losing is never fun, the Ironmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 496th, while the Red Devils are ranked 183rd).

Mancelona is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11. As for East Jordan, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mancelona will host St. Mary Cathedral at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary Cathedral will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Mancelona surely won't give up without a fight. As for East Jordan, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Forest Area at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (East Jordan has five straight victories, Forest Area has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
