Volleyball Recap: Falls Lake Starts Season with Victory Against Louisburg

Falls Lake had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Louisburg Warriors 3-0 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Firebirds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Falls Lake never let Louisburg on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-12, 25-15.

Falls Lake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tess DeZurik, who had 15 digs and six kills. That's the most kills DeZurik has posted since back in September of 2024. Maggie Penn was another key player, getting 25 digs and three assists.

Coming up, Falls Lake will challenge Carrboro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Louisburg, they will square off against South Granville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
