Recap: Johnson City Eagles vs. Goldthwaite Eagles
It was a good run, but the Johnson City Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 38-27 to Goldthwaite. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Johnson City has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Johnson City still got an impressive performance from Mccray Jacobs, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Johnny Slawinski, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Johnson City's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-8. As for Goldthwaite, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-9 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing San Saba the next time they take the court. Goldthwaite will head out to face San Saba at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, while Johnson City will host them at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
