Basketball Recap: La Porte Comes Up Short

La Porte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-31 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Chicago Central Cardinals. The Slicers were probably out for revenge after losing 52-45 to them when the teams met back in January of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

La Porte's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for East Chicago Central, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-9 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Porte will head out to challenge Lake Central at 2:30 p.m. on January 11th. As for East Chicago Central, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the East Chicago Central Cardinals duke it out with the Gary West Side Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
