Sheridan faced East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Broncs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Thunderbirds 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Broncs in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now won five in a row.

Sheridan took East into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The final score came out to 25-17, 17-25, 17-25, 25-17, 15-7.

Sheridan's offense was headlined by Chalaya Bales and Mesa Hanft, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Korah Condos and her 37 assists. Hanft was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why East lost, don't look at Mckenna Waters. Despite the final result, she had 16 assists and three digs.
