Basketball Recap: Pleasanton Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

If Ansley/Litchfield wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pleasanton, they should've done a better job of containing Tyra Sekutera. The Pleasanton Bulldogs enjoyed a cozy 50-31 win over the Ansley/Litchfield Spartans on Tuesday thanks in part to Sekutera, who went 8 for 20 en route to 27 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Tenley Flood was another key player, putting up five points and nine rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Ansley/Litchfield's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caydence Feldman, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Kerry M Ryan, who scored five points along with seven boards and four blocks.

Pleasanton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Ansley/Litchfield, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Pleasanton will take on Elm Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Elm Creek will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Pleasanton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ansley/Litchfield, they will head out to challenge South Loup at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ansley/Litchfield is facing South Loup at the right time seeing as South Loup is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
