It was a good run, but Dulaney unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 59-31 loss at the hands of the Pikesville Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Panthers are ranked 17th).

Pikesville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mariah Jones-Bey out in front who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine steals. Jones-Bey is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was NyJae Malik-El, who posted 12 points and six steals.

Dulaney's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5. As for Pikesville, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Dulaney has already played their next game (against Mercy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pikesville will square off against Chesapeake at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
