Basketball Game Preview: Denfeld Hunters vs. International Falls Broncos

Denfeld is 0-3 against International Falls since January of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Denfeld Hunters will head out on the road to square off against the International Falls Broncos at 1:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Friday, Denfeld had to suffer through a 69-35 loss at the hands of Hermantown. While losing is never fun, the Hunters can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 321st, while the Hawks are ranked 103rd).

Denfeld got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Amahya Liddel and Maurissa Hendricks, who each put up three points.

Meanwhile, International Falls might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Mesabi East an easy 57-31 win. The Broncos have struggled against the Giants recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

International Falls' loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Denfeld, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

Denfeld lost to International Falls on the road by a decisive 63-46 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2020. Can Denfeld avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
