Football Game Preview: West Platte Bluejays vs. Lawson Cardinals

West Platte is 1-9 against Lawson since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bluejays will head out to face off against the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. West Platte will be strutting in after a victory while Lawson will be coming in after a defeat.

West Platte will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any points last Friday, then bounced right back against Plattsburg on Friday. The Bluejays blew past the Tigers 62-14. That looming 62-14 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bluejays yet this season.

Meanwhile, Lawson ended up a good deal behind Mid-Buchanan on Friday and lost 35-21. The loss continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost seven in a row.

West Platte now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lawson, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.

West Platte lost to Lawson on the road by a decisive 34-15 margin in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Bluejays avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
