Softball Recap: Calvary Baptist Academy Beats Ouachita Parish for Their 29th Straight Win

Calvary Baptist Academy put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Ouachita Parish Lions. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won 17 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kynzee Anderson made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

In other pitching news, Addison Willis looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Calvary Baptist Academy got a massive performance out of Mallory Carver, who fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most home runs Carver has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlie Guile, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Calvary Baptist Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ouachita Parish only posted an OBP of .294.

Calvary Baptist Academy's win was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-0. As for Ouachita Parish, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-8.

Coming up, Calvary Baptist Academy will be playing at home against North DeSoto at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ouachita Parish, they will take on Pineville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pineville's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Ouachita Parish's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
