Volleyball Recap: C.B. Aycock Falls to Rosewood in First Game of Season

C.B. Aycock had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rosewood Eagles on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Falcons of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2022.

C.B. Aycock started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-13, 26-24, 25-11.

Among those leading the charge was Khiry Reese, who had 16 digs and two aces. She has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last six times she's played. Bella Mazura was another key player, getting 17 assists and nine digs.

Rosewood has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, C.B. Aycock will welcome J.H. Rose at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rosewood, they are taking a road trip to square off against Neuse Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
