Baseball Recap: Rhea County Comes Up Short

Rhea County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 13-10 to the Whitwell Tigers.

Brady Williams led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Jax Schmitt was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Rhea County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Whitwell, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Rhea County has already played their next game, a 4-0 loss against Cleveland on the 14th. As for Whitwell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 5-4 win against Van Buren County on the 14th.
