Baseball Recap: Benjamin Davis Takes a Loss

Benjamin Davis extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 7-17. They lost 11-2 to the Westfield Mustangs. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Keithas Johnson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Benjamin Davis' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 5-16 when he doesn't).

As for Westfield, they moved to 9-16 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

On Westfield's side, Enzo Jones was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Edwards, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

While Benjamin Davis had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
