Softball Game Preview: Hunt Warriors vs. West Johnston Wildcats

Hunt is 0-7 against West Johnston since March of 2019 but things could change on Friday. Hunt will look to defend their home field against West Johnston at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Hunt's offense. They lost 15-0 to South Johnston on Tuesday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, West Johnston was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against C.B. Aycock, falling 9-1. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

West Johnston's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-6. As for Hunt, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Hunt couldn't quite finish off West Johnston in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can Hunt avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
