Mount Vernon hasn't had much luck against Stanwood recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Spartans at 7:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, Stanwood waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over Marysville Getchell. That looming 42-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Spartans yet this season.

Mount Vernon's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Stanwood, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
