North Valley proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 41) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the South Umpqua Lancers 6-3. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
North Valley can attribute much of their success to Hayden Taylor, who rushed for 126 yards.
North Valley's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for South Umpqua, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 3-1.
North Valley and South Umpqua will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Knights will challenge rival Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, South Umpqua is set to square off against their familiar foe Siuslaw at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
