Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Burroughs

Burroughs won the last time they faced Bishop Alemany and things went their way on Saturday too. The Burroughs Bears came out on top against the Bishop Alemany Warriors by a score of 63-50. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Warriors are ranked 390th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Burroughs was led to victory by Mariam Fahs and Valentina Morales. Fahs dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards, while Morales dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Fahs a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Mena, who posted eight points and five assists.

The win was the fourth in a row for Burroughs, bringing their record for this year to 12-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Bishop Alemany, they moved to 7-10 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burroughs will take on Crescenta Valley at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Alemany, they will face off against Marymount at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
