Volleyball Recap: Guilderland Beats Averill Park for Their Third Straight Victory

Guilderland waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Averill Park Golden Knights as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Flying Dutchmen also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

Guilderland never let Averill Park on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-23, 25-11.

Guilderland can attribute much of their success to Hailey Elario, who had ten digs and six assists.

Guilderland was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

The win got Guilderland back to even at 5-5. As for Averill Park, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Guilderland and Columbia will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Averill Park, they will be playing at home against Cohoes at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
