Basketball Recap: Moyers Drops Season-High Score on Wapanucka

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Moyers). They breezed by the Wapanucka Indians to the tune of 85-15 on Thursday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Indians are ranked 485th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory was the third in a row for Moyers, bringing their record for this year to 11-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Wapanucka, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Moyers will venture away from home to challenge Eagletown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eagletown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Moyers likes a good challenge. As for Wapanucka, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-14 defeat against Achille on the 17th.
