Softball Recap: Spanish Fort Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Spanish Fort came into Friday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Thomasville Tigers on Friday.

Mallarie Beagle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madison Griffith, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Haley Hart was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Spanish Fort's win bumped their record up to 31-9. As for Thomasville, their defeat dropped their record down to 25-7.

Coming up, Spanish Fort will take on Chattanooga Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Toros 2.3, the Chargers 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Thomasville, they will square off against Wakulla at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
